Pompeii Photo-Op
Project done at SRO Associates. Our client asked for a photo-op area for a traveling museum exhibit based on Pompeii. They wanted the photo-op to look like the mosaics from the time period. They also requested something that was mostly 2D so it would travel well. I was assigned as the designer and draftsman for the project.
These were some of my inspiration images for the project. The client wanted a photo-op area that looked like a Mosaic from the period of Pompeii. The specified the mosaic, a jaguar/cheetah, and a shield.
This was my rendering for the client. I had to create the background mosaic from a few different real historic mosaics.
Showing the client that the area would be accessible for wheelchairs as well. This rendering shows an earlier version of the shield.
Rendering showing the height of an average adult. This was an early version of the shield. The client decided a more realistic 3D shield was what the wanted.
My draftings of the full structure.
My drafting showing parts of the structure and how we would ship it.
Detail drafting and paint elevation of the shield redesign.
Photo of the shield all finished.
Snapshot from Instagram. The final Photo-Op. The exhibit included the hashtag #uskcpompeii so guests could see all of the photos together on Instagram.
